A SURVEY TO DETERMINE CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACT ON HERDERS LAUNCHED
IRIM commissioned by the World Bank, is implementing a “Survey on Socially Sustainable Transition to Low-Carbon Development in Mongolia”.
The objective of this survey is to inform policies and actions for inclusive, participatory, and accountable transition to low-carbon development in Mongolia, with focus on the impacts of climate change on rural populations, especially herders.
The survey employs a combination of quantitative and qualitative survey methods. As part of the quantitative survey, over 1,400 citizens and herders are being surveyed to assess their attitudes towards climate change and gather perceptions of the impacts on their livelihoods.
The survey findings will be instrumental in enhancing the strategy for a national-level campaign designed to raise public awareness and strengthen the capacity of key stakeholders.
